Olá! I'm Rafael — the heart and soul behind Madeira Horizon.
Madeira Horizon is more than just jeep tours—it's about sharing the real Madeira, far beyond the postcards. At Madeira Horizon, it’s not just about where we go—it’s how you feel along the way. I started this jeep tour company because I wanted to show people the island the way locals know and love it: raw, real, and full of surprises. No boring scripts, no tourist traps—just open roads, secret spots, and stories. I like to keep things flexible, spontaneous, and personal. So hop in, hold on, and let’s go find the magic on Madeira Island—and beyond the ordinary
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised on Madeira Island, but like many locals, I spent several years living in abroad in search of better work opportunities. While those years were valuable, my heart never left Madeira. Eventually, I decided it was time to return home and reconnect with the place that means the most to me.
After coming back, I began working in tourism and guiding—and quickly discovered how much I enjoy sharing the island’s beauty, culture, and hidden corners with others. Also i realized that what i realy enjoy is keeping things spontaneous and adventurous, showing the island diferently.
That’s how Madeira Horizon was born—my way of offering travelers a more personal, off-the-beaten-path experience that goes far beyond the typical tour.
I speak fluent French, English, and Portuguese, and I love adding local flavor to every trip—whether it’s a stop for traditional food or poncha. And of course, I never turn down the chance to discover a stunning viewpoint—especially if we have to go off-road to get there.
